Finished….Just in Time

The Sheep barn is finished and ready for new occupants. A bit of red and white paint and the place will look great.

The barn has dutch doors on each end with matching pair windows. Skylights allow light into the loft on the south side giving the inside a nice warm appearance.

This is what the farm area looks like from our driveway. The goat barn on the right (almost painted), the chicken coop to the middle, and the sheep barn on the end. The dirt mound will be spread out over the sand road next week and seeded with grass, giving us back a nice looking back yard.

The inside has a huge loft and plenty of room for stalls, which my dad will build in August when he visits. The sheep arrive Monday, we finished just in time.

Thanks, but we so dread the painting that still needs to be completed.

Oh how I want a barn just like that and you have two…not fair. I have a serious case of barn envy. And sheep all the way from Washington. I'll wave at them as they go by.

Oh, my goodness! It's gorgeous! WoooHOOOOOO!I am a Dutch door freak. I have been since I was a child, yet no such door to my name. I love yours.Your place is so lovely. Invite some young people over for a barn painting party, serve snacks and drinks, and finish off with a banana split party in the new loft. You might get some takers. :o) ~Faith

Our barns are really more like sheds. The largest is 20 x 16 with the goats getting by with a 18 x 12. They do look great, and the dutch doors allow for so much airflow.

  6. Cute blog! Check out our blog at thechickenkeepers.blogspot.com

Beautiful barn, I love it! I mean, I almost want to think of what other animals we could (should…) have, so I can have an excuse to build one. 🙂

  8. Wow, this is so attractive! What a palace you've built for these little sheep. They don't need much room, and ours live in much more modest quarters. I can hardly wait to hear about their arrival!~ Ronda

  9. The new barn is beautiful! Congratulations! Loved seeing the progress… Farmer @ http://www.farmer-rosehillfarm.blogspot.com

We have been blessed this year with being able to have the barns built and adding the animals! I can hardly believe it! It is like a dream!Goatgirl- in regards to your barn envy…every time I see your goaties I have goat envy. My dream goat is a black and with some white(like a little cow) little darling with blue eyes. One day I will find her…until then I am loving on my babies!

Mary, Build your new shed – we will send you some sheep after next springs lambs are born….or maybe we will send the ducks instead.Ronda, It isn't a palace because that would make us royal servants. We like to think of ourselves as royal pains.

Farmer, Thanks for stopping by – loved the pictures of you at your "new farm".
