Yesterday Killarney broke through the fence again and was harassing Bablo and Dominic. The Commander was still home sick so he and Molly went out again to put him back in his area. It was really cold and windy and since the Commander wasn’t feeling well he just put Killarney in the barn and closed the door. He said he figured that there was plenty of food and water so he should be OK.

This decision turned into a disaster. Killarney went on a rampage inside the barn.

Every birthing stall was severely damaged.

He knocked the hinges loose on the first stall, the door is just hanging loose.

We are going to have to totally replace this cross beam support.

He even crushed feed bins.

My Father built the inside of the barn for me and it was a masterpiece. Every piece of wood was sanded down smooth. The Commander said that when he opened the door Killarney trotted out calmly like nothing had happened. It is shocking the damage that he caused. Another lesson learned about how not to handle animals.

You would think Rams would get a headache from all that head bashing. I took pictures on one of my fences ……… it was straight when I put it up ….. LOL.

Yes, it was human “error” to put him in there I suppose……but I’d still be wanting some mutton for dinner….tough & chew or not!!

OFG – The Commander said he was almost in shock when he first saw it. I am so sad as my dad did such a wonderful job putting this together and the silly ram destroyed it all. A dog would be too good for Killarney at this point.

How should have the ram been handled, given it was so cold and windy outside? Question from a complete layperson in these matters!
